Play Ball!

DSCN2877

Participants must be 30 years of age or older and have a love of the game! There are no requirements based on prior baseball playing experience. “Rookies” range from having played in organized ball to no experience at all!

Campers will be assigned a team and two coaches for the week – to be announced at Sunday evening’s welcome gathering. Each day will begin with a full camp meeting, complete with kangaroo court and a review of the previous day’s play. The pros have been known to tell some “inside baseball” stories at these meetings – stories you won’t hear anywhere else!

On–field activities and intra-squad games are scheduled Monday through Friday, culminating in the campers vs. the pros game on Saturday. Imagine an at-bat in the stadium against former major leaguers like Fergie Jenkins, Lee Smith, Mike Remlinger or Jon Lieber! (Weekday games may include a mid-week twi-night double-header and possible away game vs. another camp, weather permitting.)

Players are required to supply their own glove, all-purpose shoes (cleats are optional, metal cleats are discouraged) and a supporter. Bats, batting helmets and baseballs will be provided. Feel free to bring your own gear as you wish. (Swimwear, casual attire and incidental cash are recommended.)

Rain is not allowed. But on those rare occasions when the field becomes unplayable, alternate plans will be made… just like the big leagues.

Let’s play ball in the Arizona sunshine!
